I Hate Cupcakes - Farewell New York City Edition

There's a Crumbs Grasshopper cupcake sitting in my tummy like a wretched sugary lump. Why did I do this to myself at 2.30 am? It seemed like such a good idea, I don't know why.

Denise wishes you all a very Happy New Year. She rocked out last night onstage at the Madison Square Garden place. She was the belle of the ball.

I was not the belle of the ball. I shot 1500 pictures in 14 hours, and I think like five of them are good, maybe.

My Morning Jacket looked fab in their white tuxes and top hats. I think my fave song of the evening was "Islands In The Stream" with Nicole Atkins singing the Dolly part (and quite beautifully, I might add). After weeks of hearing the song while Tom cooked dinner, it was most excellent to see it become a reality.

We ride home tomorrow. Seven people on the bus this time so it will seem positively spacious by comparison. I have all my Freaks and Geeks DVDs so I bet it's going to be a bitchin' time.

New York was grand, but I miss the kids. (Yes, I'm one of those goobers who calls her pets her kids.)

2009 here we come.

Hey, I call 'em kids, too.

Have a safe trip back! If you have any evil cupcakes left and would like to relieve yourself of them, you know where to find me.
